ArtsCentric's Aida Review - broadwayworld.com
Reader's Choice Award 2007 - Best College Production

“Innovative,” “Creative” and “Exciting” are just a few of the words that are applicable when describing ArtsCentric. Founded by twelve aspiring young artists on April 11, 2003, the company has become a significant source of enlightenment and entertainment for audiences everywhere.

ArtsCentric is a performing arts production company dedicated to performing, promoting and preserving the arts. Its members consist of talented artists, musicians, educators, composers, and playwrights, many of which are pursuing or have obtained undergraduate and graduate degrees in arts administration and management, arts education, and performance.

Since its inception, ArtsCentric has become a community favorite having produced and performed a number of reputable works and productions in the Baltimore-Washington region including Ain’t Misbehavin’: The Fats Waller Musical Show, and Stephen Sondheim’s Tony Award-Winning Putting it Together. The company has also served as an outlet for composers of original works and music, hosting regularly in its seasons, events and productions that provide exposure to local artists, composers and playwrights.

In a relatively short period of time, ArtsCentric performances have grown to become a recognized staple in the community. Highlights of previous seasons include performances for “A Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration,” with the Service Employees International Union, opposite keynote speaker Jessie Jackson, as well as, an electrifying performance of popular songs for the National Alliance to End Homelessness at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.

These and other well-noted performances have aided ArtsCentric in impacting a broad and diverse audience base, and in establishing for itself a reputation for high standards of professionalism. In coming years, using the collective talent, experience, and drive of its members, ArtsCentric hopes to continue these unprecedented standards and positively influence us all, one audience at a time.
